Piazza is an ordained priest in the Ecumenical Catholic Church (a branch of the Old Catholic Church), the third Catholic woman to be ordained in the United States. Following ordination, Rev. Piazza served the faith community of Saint Matthew, an Ecumenical Catholic Church in Orange, CA for two years as the Associate Pastor. In 2004, Piazza and a small group of progressive, ecumenical spiritual companions founded a new faith community, Sophia Spirit, where she continues to serve as Pastor and Spiritual Director.
