GAY PRIDE CHOCOLATES

This new line of artisan, handmade chocolates inspired by the symbols of the GLBT community such as the pink triangle, AIDS ribbon, rainbow, lambda and others with exotic fruit and genuine flower extract fillings including passion fruit, tamarind, coconut, guava, rose, jasmine, café-au-lait and jalapeño.

Gay Pride Chocolates made with dark chocolate are handmade by Howard Vic Morales in Ponce, Puerto Rico, in one-of-a-kind molds which he makes using FDA approved rubber silicone. He makes his own exotic fillings with fresh fruit native to the island such as passion fruit which grows in his garden as well as imported flower extracts such as rose and jasmine from the Far East. The chocolate which is filled with a tangy but not overpowering jalapeño ganache is made with a mix of Forastero and Criollo dark chocolates, which, when blended together, are known as Hispaniola chocolate, 70% cacao, has a strong aroma and taste with hints of wine and spices.

Gay Pride Chocolates come in wooden coffers containing 32 chocolates with a gold leafed coat-of-arms decorated with a diagonal rainbow sash and surmounted with a silver leafed ancient Greek helmet. The coffer is sealed with the client's choice of either a violet or rainbow ribbon sealed with red wax bearing the imprint of a Coquí frog native to the island of Puerto Rico. Price: $45.00. Howard, of Spanish-Italian extraction, born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, was an Army brat raised overseas in Panama and South Korea, as well as the states of Wisconsin, Missouri, Maryland, Connecticut, New York, Alabama and Georgia. He has also vacationed in Spain, Saint Thomas, Cuba, Japan, North Carolina and Florida.
