Hartford Next Destination in Gay Wedding Expo Tour

Asheville, NC 07-14-09 -- Hartford has been selected as the latest location for Rainbow Wedding Network's Same Love, Same RightsR LGBT Wedding Expo and Mobile Marriage Summit. Free for the public to attend, the event will be hosted at the Harford Marriott Farmington on July 26, 2009 from 12:30 - 3:30 pm.

Guests will enjoy the opportunity to meet more than forty pre-screened, gay-friendly professionals involved with all stages of wedding planning from ceremony sites to reception venues, musicians and DJs, cake decorators, officiants and honeymoon travel experts. Real estate professionals, lawyers, and marriage equality organizations will also be spotlighted. In addition to the multitude of exhibitors, the Expo will feature samples, giveaways and interactive presentations.

As one of the pioneer states for equal marriage rights, Connecticut is an ideal location to embrace the area's political success and also to unite in support of progress in gay rights legislation across the nation.

"Recent months have brought the triumphs in Vermont, Iowa and New Hampshire right along with the sobering disappointment of Proposition 8 in California," comments RainbowWeddingNetwork co-founder Marianne Puechl. "We are seeing great strides regarding equality throughout various areas of the country, but as a minority the LGBT community must continue to join together for its common, national cause."

Couples, singles, advocates and allies from all surrounding areas are encouraged to take part in this day of Celebration, Activism and Joy. Attendees of the event will take home a goodie-bag filled with inspirational ideas and contact information to assist in planning their perfect ceremony; in addition attendees will be invited to add their photograph to the Commitment Photo Album,T an ongoing project to document LGBT couples and their families throughout the nation.

Launched in 2000, RainbowWeddingNetwork.com (RWN) has grown to become the most extensive wedding resource for the gay and lesbian community in the United States. Following the success of its first LGBT Wedding Expo in 2003, the company released the national Rainbow Wedding Network Magazine in 2006, a full-color quarterly glossy dedicated to gay and lesbian weddings and the issues surrounding equal marriage and family rights for the LGBT minority.
