Revolutionary New Reality TV Production Company
Uses First All-Gay, All-African American Cast

(Columbus, OH, USA 04-13-09) – A new production company is about to unveil a fascinating and controversial side of American life never before revealed on television. Toddieepoo Productions plans to launch a TV show that explores complex, emotionally engaging, dramatic issues faced by gay and lesbian African Americans.

“Productions such as the film Brokeback Mountain and TV shows like Will & Grace and The Real World have featured gay cast members to take advantage of the popularity of well-crafted gay stories and characters,” explains Toddieepoo Productions founder Lisa Todd. “But never before has a reality show taken the bold step of using an exclusively African American gay cast to portray the lives of GLBT individuals in the USA .”

While Ms. Todd is unable to reveal specific details because of ongoing negotiations, she does describe a compelling reality show format with an all-black cast of both gays and lesbians. “Given the potential for personality clashes, emotional and social interactions, and just plain fun, the show will be wild, exciting, and most importantly, for mature audiences,” says Todd. “African American gays and lesbians will live and compete for attention under one roof, it will be an emotional rollercoaster. The show is like nothing America has every witnessed until now.”

Another Toddieepoo production is a reality-based cash prize competition for drag kings contestants who are aggressive and proud of it. Although American audiences adore reality TV, these productions will give them a serious reality check to challenge stereotypes, raise cultural awareness, and push the creative envelope of dramatic entertainment for adult viewers.

"We would love to have Felicia ‘Snoop’ Pearson from the hit series The Wire judge that competition, and perhaps write the entire show around her presence,” acknowledges Todd. “Of course that's a dream – but as Toddieepoo Productions has already proven, sometimes dreams do come true."
