Wedding-Supplies.com: Gay Wedding Favors "Stimulus Plan"
Company offers custom wedding favors donation for gay couples
LOS ANGELES, December 8, 2010 - - Since June, Wedding-Supplies.com has offered a monthly 'Wedding Favors Stimulus Plan'. The program, which is entitled "Vicki Offers Wedding Supplies" (VOWS), entails the company literally giving away custom printed gay wedding favors to couples who have been affected by the economic downturn.
Vicki Lee, general manager of Wedding-Supplies.com, says the VOWS program is designed to assist couples whose wedding plans have been changed or put on hold due to the recession. The manager also wants to remind all that the program includes gay and lesbian as well as heterosexual partners. "The 'Great Recession,' as it's being called, seems to be affecting people from all walks of life," says Lee. "We encourage all couples who are having trouble affording personalized wedding favors to sign up for our wedding favors program."
The donation program gives gay and lesbian couples the chance to receive various custom gay wedding favors, such as printed shot glasses, save-the-date wedding magnets, custom wedding flutes and other keepsakes. The company has offered to print the newlywed's names or add a graphic and ship them to the customer free of charge.
Although gay weddings are currently on the rise, Lee points out that the recession has caused a dramatic decrease in overall weddings and wedding expenditures. Couples have been altering their plans and trimming their wedding budgets. Statistics in 2008 reinforce this fact, as there were 30,000 less weddings than the year before. There has been a drastic decline in revenues throughout the wedding industry. For example, stocks of wedding-related companies such as The Knot Inc.(KNOT) and several other wedding-related stocks are down 60% from early 2007 levels.
Lee hopes that the VOWS program will help change these statistics, and encourages gay and homosexual wedding couples to sign up. "Our company feels a deep sense of pride knowing we are offering a program that not only supplies gay wedding favors, but also assists couples in starting their new life together," explains Lee.
Couples and partners can register for possible donations of custom wedding favors through the Wedding-Supplies.com website. There is a link near the top of the website which takes visitors to a registration page for the program. Donations will be made on a monthly basis.
